Agatha Christie’s iconic storytelling returns to the screen with Towards Zero, a gripping new three-part event series based on her eponymous novel. The series, premiering April 16 on BritBox, features a star-studded cast including Oscar® winner Anjelica Huston and Primetime Emmy® winner Matthew Rhys.
Set in 1936 England, Towards Zero follows the tumultuous lives of British tennis star Nevile Strange (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) and his ex-wife, Audrey (Ella Lily Hyland), who, despite their scandalous divorce, decide to spend a summer together at Gull’s Point. The coastal estate of Nevile’s aunt, Lady Tressilian (Huston), becomes the backdrop for a volatile reunion, heightened by the presence of Nevile’s new wife, Kay (Mimi Keene). Tensions quickly escalate as old flames and new relationships collide.
The plot thickens as an eclectic group of characters—including a mysterious valet, a vengeful cousin, a dutiful family lawyer, and a French conman—arrive, creating a charged atmosphere where betrayal and jealousy brew beneath the surface. As murder lurks, a troubled detective is forced to confront his own demons in a race against time to solve the crime before another victim falls.
Directed by Olivier Award winner Sam Yates and written by Rachel Bennette, Towards Zero promises an explosive tale of love, revenge, and intrigue. The series, produced by Rebecca Durbin and featuring executive producers including Damien Timmer and James Prichard, will premiere exclusively on BritBox in North America. Episodes will air daily from April 16 to April 18, making for a suspenseful and thrilling three-day event.
The series promises a compelling mix of Christie’s trademark suspense, dark family secrets, and complex relationships—ideal for fans of classic whodunnits and new viewers alike.
