The Bondsman, a new supernatural drama from Blumhouse Television, Marker 96, and CrimeThink Production Company, is set to premiere on Prime Video on April 3rd. The series stars Kevin Bacon as Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who is resurrected by the Devil after his murder. Tasked with capturing and returning escaped demons to Hell, Hub embarks on a personal journey that forces him to confront his own past and sins. As he tracks these demons with the aid — and interference — of his estranged family, Hub is determined to earn a second chance at life, love, and country music.
The series, which features all eight episodes in a half-hour format, will be available for streaming in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. Alongside Bacon, the cast includes Jennifer Nettles (The Righteous Gemstones), Damon Herriman (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Beth Grant (No Country for Old Men), Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space), and Jolene Purdy (Orange Is the New Black). Herriman plays Lucky, a country music club owner and the current partner of Hub’s ex-wife Maryanne, portrayed by Nettles. Grant takes on the role of Kitty, Hub’s mother, while Jenkins plays Cade, the son of Hub and Maryanne. Purdy’s character, Midge, is a tough and strategic individual who secretly serves as an emissary.
The series was created by Grainger David, known for his short film The Chair, which was featured at the Cannes Film Festival. Erik Oleson, who previously worked as showrunner for the second season of Carnival Row and the third season of Daredevil, serves as the showrunner for The Bondsman. Oleson is also an executive producer, alongside Blumhouse’s Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, and Chris Dickie, and CrimeThink’s Paul E. Shapiro. Bacon is also credited as an executive producer, with Erik Holmberg as co-executive producer.
