Blake Lively will be walking the red carpet at the world premiere of Another Simple Favor during the opening night of the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival on Friday. The sequel to A Simple Favor will have its premiere at the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas, with director Paul Feig confirming that Lively will be joined by co-stars Anna Kendrick, Henry Golding, Michelle Morrone, and Elizabeth Perkins.
This marks Lively’s first major red carpet appearance since her legal dispute with director Justin Baldoni, which has been widely publicized. Her previous public outing took place in February at the SNL50 telecast in New York City, where she appeared with her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds.
Feig, who has been a vocal supporter of Lively throughout her ongoing legal battles, spoke highly of her professionalism. “Blake is the greatest. I couldn’t love her more. She’s a dream to work with,” Feig said. “She’s a great collaborator, open to everyone’s ideas, and a pro in every sense of the word.”
Lively’s legal issues stem from a lawsuit she filed against Baldoni, her co-star and director on the 2023 film It Ends With Us. Lively alleges sexual harassment and claims Baldoni orchestrated a smear campaign against her after she raised concerns during production. In response, Baldoni has filed a defamation lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds.
The premiere of Another Simple Favor at SXSW is just the first of several planned events. Additional premieres are set for New York City and Los Angeles before the movie’s release on Amazon Prime Video on May 1.
