Pop sensation Charli XCX is reportedly in the running for a significant role in Greta Gerwig’s highly anticipated adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia, set to debut on Netflix. According to Deadline, Charli is among the top contenders for a key role in the film, though specifics on the character have yet to be confirmed. Speculation points toward the possibility of her playing Jadis, the iconic White Witch, a pivotal antagonist in the series.
Gerwig, who captured global attention with her 2023 hit Barbie, is helming the new Narnia project, which is based on C.S. Lewis’ beloved fantasy books. The film is slated for release on November 26, 2026, in IMAX theaters for a limited two-week run before becoming available exclusively on Netflix on Christmas Day.
This potential acting venture aligns with Charli XCX’s growing interest in expanding her career into acting and filmmaking. The singer’s involvement in several high-profile projects has already been confirmed. Last December, it was announced that she had joined the cast of The Gallerist, directed by Cathy Yan and starring Natalie Portman and Jenna Ortega.
In addition to her acting career, Charli XCX is producing The Moment, a film conceived by the artist herself and being produced by renowned indie studio A24. This project also marks the first release from her new production company, Studio365.
Fans can also look forward to Charli’s appearances in various upcoming films and series, including Benito Skinner’s Overcompensating, Gregg Araki’s thriller I Want Your Sex, Daniel Goldhaber’s Faces of Death remake, and Julia Jackman’s adaptation of the graphic novel 100 Nights of Hero.
