Rebel Wilson’s action-packed comedy Bride Hard is set to make its nationwide debut this summer. The film, a high-octane twist on the classic wedding comedy genre, will be released by Bob Yari’s Magenta Light Studios on June 20.
Directed by Simon West, known for his work on The Expendables 2 and Con Air, Bride Hard reunites Wilson with her Pitch Perfect co-star Anna Camp. The film boasts a star-studded supporting cast, including Anna Chlumsky (Inventing Anna, Veep), Oscar winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers), Gigi Zumbado (Heart Eyes), Stephen Dorff (True Detective, The Righteous Gemstones), and Justin Hartley (This is Us, Tracker).
In the film, Wilson stars as Sam, a secret agent whose most challenging mission yet is pleasing her best friend (Camp) at a lavish destination wedding. When mercenaries crash the celebration and take guests hostage, Sam is forced into a high-stakes battle to save the day—all while keeping her secret agent identity intact and ensuring the wedding goes off without a hitch. As she faces off against the attackers, Sam realizes the real danger may be closer to her than she expected.
With a perfect blend of humor and thrilling action, Bride Hard promises to deliver a unique cinematic experience. “Packed with comedy and high-energy thrills, Bride Hard is sure to entertain everyone who has ever attended a wedding,” said Yari. “Seeing the unexpected duo of Simon West and Rebel Wilson come together is a collaboration that will captivate audiences this summer.”
Produced by Balcony 9’s Joel David Moore (Immaculate Room, Some Other Woman), Colleen Camp (Above Suspicion), Cassian Elwes (The Butler), Max Osswald (Immaculate Room), and Jason Ross Jallet (Big Gold Brick), the project was developed in association with WME Independent, Copper Island Films, and Latigo Films.
