Apple TV+ has released the highly anticipated first trailer for Your Friends & Neighbors, a new comedy series featuring Jon Hamm. The show promises to be the next big streaming hit, offering a fresh escape just as viewers prepare for the conclusion of Severance with its Season 2 finale approaching.
In Your Friends & Neighbors, Hamm takes on the role of Andrew “Coop” Cooper, a once-prominent hedge fund manager whose life unravels after a divorce and getting fired from his job. But instead of wallowing in self-pity or retreating to a clichéd bachelor pad, Coop decides to embark on a more daring route—stealing from his wealthy neighbors. Essentially, the show positions Hamm in a one-man version of The Bling Ring, where his character’s fall from grace leads him into a spiral of criminal antics.
Rather than accepting his downfall, Coop’s taste for luxury remains intact. His solution to maintaining his lavish lifestyle? Aiding himself to the extravagant possessions of his affluent Westmont Village neighbors. However, as with any good TV drama, things don’t go according to plan. What begins as petty theft soon entangles Coop in a web of secrets, scandals, and high-society intrigue. Expect at least one dramatic moment involving a champagne flute being shattered in disbelief.
Created by Jonathan Tropper (Banshee, Warrior), Your Friends & Neighbors blends crime, drama, and dark comedy, with Hamm’s recent performance in Fargo serving as a perfect example of his ability to portray charismatic yet morally questionable characters. Joining Hamm are Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, and Hoon Lee, all of whom add to the show’s star-studded cast.
The series is set to premiere on April 11, with the first two episodes available for immediate viewing. Apple TV+ has already expressed its confidence in the show by renewing it for a second season before the first episode even airs, giving fans of Severance a new drama to dive into.
With Jon Hamm, sharp writing, and a stylish premise, Your Friends & Neighbors looks set to become the latest binge-worthy series on Apple TV+.
