Munich-based sales agency The Playmaker has secured a significant distribution deal for its acclaimed heist comedy Two to One with IPA Asia, marking a key step in the film’s global reach. The movie, which features Academy Award-nominated German actress Sandra Hüller, is already garnering attention in international markets.

Hüller, renowned for her roles in Anatomy of a Fall and The Zone of Interest, stars alongside Max Riemelt (Sense 8) and Ronald Zehrfeld (Barbara, Phoenix). Directed by Natja Brunckhorst, known for her successful projects Alles in Bester Ordnung and Wie Feuer und Flamme, Two to One is based on true events from the tumultuous period during the reunification of Germany in 1990.

She transitioned to screenwriting, penning scripts for notable TV series like Einsatz Hamburg Süd and Tatort. Her screenplay for Feuer und Flamme, based on her own life, earned her the German Film Award in 2001. Brunckhorst also contributed to the acclaimed children’s film Amelie Rennt and has enjoyed success as a director with Alles in Bester Ordnung.

Alongside Two to One, The Playmaker’s diverse slate includes the love story Muenter & Kandinsky — The Blue Rider, the drama Never Alone from director Klaus Härö, and the creature horror film Paws, which features a deadly polar bear. The agency is also handling family animation projects, including Ploey 2 — The Legend of the Winds and Pirate Mo — The Legend of the Red Ruby.
