Actress Lee Si Young and her husband, restaurateur Mr. Jo, are currently undergoing divorce proceedings. The couple, who submitted the required documents to the Seoul Family Court earlier this year, have largely agreed on the main terms of the divorce but are still finalizing some details.
Lee Si Young, 42, married Mr. Jo, who is nine years her senior, in 2017. At the time, Lee was at the peak of her acting career, and their marriage attracted significant media attention, partly due to Mr. Jo’s success in the restaurant business. He was often referred to as the “Little Baek Jong Won” for his entrepreneurial achievements. In 2018, the couple welcomed their son into the family.
Throughout their marriage, Lee Si Young frequently shared insights into her family life on popular variety shows such as I Live Alone and Point of Omniscient Interfere, painting a picture of a happy and open household. However, after eight years together, the couple has decided to go their separate ways.
Lee Si Young, who debuted in 2008, gained public recognition through her roles in the drama Boys Over Flowers and the variety show We Got Married. Known for her vibrant and athletic image, she also trained in boxing for a role, even winning an amateur boxing tournament.
Her most recent acting projects include starring as Seo I Kyung, a special forces firefighter, in Netflix’s Sweet Home seasons 2 and 3, released last year. Her performance in the action-packed role received praise for its intensity and physicality.
