Veteran French actor Jean Reno, known for his roles in films like Léon: The Professional and Mission: Impossible, has been confirmed to star in the film, according to producers. The movie’s plot centers on Carl Rikker, a florist-turned-assassin tasked with protecting a young girl.
Directed by Babak Najafi, whose previous credits include Proud Mary and London Has Fallen, the film’s screenplay was penned by Scott Windhauser and Eran Creevy. Production is scheduled to run from late March through April in Hudson County.
In addition to Reno, producers confirmed that casting announcements are forthcoming. While actor Kiefer Sutherland had been rumored to be attached to the project, official casting details are still pending.
Local extras and background actors are being sought for the film’s New Jersey scenes, providing an opportunity for residents to participate in the production.
