In a fresh take on a classic tale, The Death of Snow White, a B-movie horror remix, offers a chilling reimagining of the iconic Snow White story. Unveiled by Entertainment Squad and The Horror Collective, the film takes the beloved fairy tale and spins it into a gruesome and dark narrative.
The plot follows Snow White, pursued relentlessly by her wicked stepmother, who seeks to preserve her own beauty for eternity. In a desperate bid for survival, Snow White flees into a terrifying forest, where she encounters seven bloodthirsty dwarves—ruthless assassins skilled in cold-blooded murder. As Snow White navigates this macabre world, the bonds of friendship and loyalty are tested in ways that could change her fate forever.
As the story unfolds, secrets are revealed, and betrayal lurks beneath the surface of a seemingly peaceful kingdom. With every twist, the characters are forced to confront their darkest fears in a relentless pursuit of justice. The suspenseful narrative leads to a tragic conclusion, leaving Snow White and her companions to avenge their fallen friend while battling the sinister forces around them.
Directed by Jason Brooks, known for his previous works in indie horror, including Missing Girl: The Carrie Burke Story and Friday the 13th Vengeance 2: Bloodlines, The Death of Snow White delves deep into the dark side of fairy tales. The screenplay, penned by Brooks and Naomi Mechem-Miller, promises a bold and terrifying take on a story familiar to many.
The film stars Sanae Loutsis as Snow White, alongside Chelsea Edmundson, Tristan Nokes, Meredith Binder, Colin Miller, Dillon Moore, Jeremy Hallam, Michael DeSanto II, Risa Mei, and Eric Pope.
Produced by Real Fiction Studios, based in the Pacific Northwest, The Death of Snow White will be released in select U.S. theaters on April 18, 2025. While the film promises to embrace the dark undercurrents of fairy tales, one has to wonder—will it succeed in capturing the audience’s attention, or will it fall short in execution? Only time will tell if this latest horror retelling is worth the watch.
