The Disney+ Japanese YouTube channel has recently unveiled a trailer for Twisted Wonderland: Episode of Heartslabyul, the anime adaptation of the popular mobile game. Running at a minute and a half, the trailer gives viewers a sneak peek into the chaotic opening ceremony, where protagonist Yuken is unexpectedly transported to Twisted Wonderland and meets his companion, Grim.
Debuting over the weekend, the trailer is currently available only in Japanese. It features several housewardens, who make brief appearances during the ceremony, though Idia and Malleus are notably absent. The anime will feature Yohei Azakami as the voice of Yuken, known for his roles as Guel in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, Mydei in Honkai: Star Rail, and Toshizo Hijikata in Blue Miburo.
Twisted Wonderland is a Japanese mobile game where players attend a school filled with characters inspired by Disney villains. Rather than being a dating sim, the game blends text-based adventure with rhythm gameplay and RPG elements. The upcoming anime is based on the manga adaptation, which presents a different protagonist, referred to as “Yu,” in each story arc. As such, it’s unclear whether Yuken will continue as the lead character in the following Savanaclaw and Octavinelle storylines or if the anime will introduce a new protagonist.
Twisted Wonderland is available on mobile devices, and the anime is set to air exclusively on Disney+ starting in October 2025. Fans of the manga can also read the English version published by Viz.
