The Bondsman, an upcoming eight-episode series starring Kevin Bacon and Jennifer Nettles, will premiere globally on Prime Video on Friday, April 4th, in over 240 countries and territories.
Bacon takes on the role of Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who is murdered and brought back to life by the devil to track down and return demons that have escaped from Hell’s prison. As Hub hunts these demons, with both the help and hindrance of his estranged wife, Maryanne (played by Nettles), he uncovers the sins that led to his own soul’s damnation. This journey pushes Hub to seek redemption, aiming for a second chance at life, love, and country music.
The series also features Damon Herriman (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Beth Grant (No Country for Old Men), Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space), and Jolene Purdy (The White Lotus), among others.
In addition to the series, Bacon and Nettles will release an album, Hell and Back, on April 4th, featuring original songs created specifically for the show. Three tracks from the album will be featured in the series itself. Bacon shared his excitement on social media, stating, “I’m excited to announce our new album, Hell and Back, with my incredible friend and costar, Jennifer Nettles! We made this album for our upcoming show The Bondsman, writing songs together to bring the world of The Bondsman to life through music. We can’t wait for you all to watch and listen.”
The Bondsman is produced by Blumhouse Television, Marker 96, CrimeThink Production Company, and Amazon MGM Studios. The series is executive produced by Erik Oleson (who also serves as showrunner), Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, Chris Dickie, and Chris McCumber for Blumhouse Television, as well as Kevin Bacon, Paul E. Shapiro, and Grainger David, who co-created the series. Erik Holmberg serves as co-executive producer.
