Dark Sky Films’ latest release, “Killgrin,” explores the intersection of grief and supernatural horror in a terrifying new film from writer-director Joanna Tsanis.
This April, prepare for a spine-tingling journey into psychological horror with Killgrin, a new film from writer-director Joanna Tsanis. Set for release in select theaters and on digital platforms, Killgrin offers an unsettling mix of personal tragedy and supernatural dread that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats.
The film follows Miranda, a woman reeling from a profound personal loss. In her quest for healing, she turns to unconventional methods, eventually seeking solace in spiritual practices. However, her search for peace takes a terrifying turn when she discovers that she has been diagnosed with a mysterious affliction known as a “Killgrin.”
Initially skeptical about the supernatural diagnosis, Miranda attempts to find comfort in more traditional therapeutic settings, joining a group therapy session. As she delves deeper into her grief and connects with others, a horrifying reality begins to unfold—those around her start meeting gruesome fates, and Miranda must face the chilling power of the “Killgrin.”
Joanna Tsanis, renowned for her work on Bloody Bites, brings her distinctive vision to Killgrin, combining psychological horror with supernatural terror. Produced by Ali Mashayekhi and Zeus Kontoyannis, the film is anchored by a stellar cast. Konstantina Mantelos, known for her roles in Anything for Jackson and Who Killed Our Father?, leads the film as Miranda, while Cristo Fernández, celebrated for his role in Ted Lasso and Spider-Man: No Way Home, stars alongside her. Additional cast members include Adam Tsekhman, Ramona Milano, Peter MacNeill, Gillian Fortin, Matt Murray, and Lynne Griffin.
At just 83 minutes, Killgrin delivers a tightly wound narrative that expertly weaves themes of grief, vulnerability, and the dark forces that can arise from within. Dark Sky Films’ release of the film promises a cinematic experience that explores the terrifying consequences of unaddressed trauma and the supernatural horrors that lurk beyond.
Killgrin will be available on April 25th, premiering in select theaters and on VOD/digital platforms.
