With its darkly satirical approach to politics and society, Years and Years has earned widespread praise. Digital Spy described it as “wild and ambitious,” while The Australian referred to it as a “bleak” drama that effectively combines social realism with dystopian sci-fi elements. The series currently holds a rating of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Entertainment Voice called the series “maniacally brilliant,” highlighting its sharp political satire and the eerie relevance of its themes, which could be seen as a prophetic warning about contemporary political shifts. Meanwhile, Decider praised the show as “fascinating,” noting the emotional range from exhilarating to crushingly depressing.

For viewers in the UK, Years and Years will stream on Netflix starting April 13, while audiences in the US can catch the series on Max.
