The first trailer for The Accountant 2 has dropped, bringing back Christian Wolff, the brilliant but troubled accountant played by Ben Affleck. In this sequel to the 2016 hit The Accountant, Wolff is drawn into a deadly new mystery when an old acquaintance is murdered, leaving behind a cryptic message urging him to “find the accountant.”
As the stakes rise, Wolff realizes that solving the case requires more extreme measures. He turns to his estranged brother, Brax (Jon Bernthal), a highly skilled and lethal individual, to help him uncover the truth. Together with U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), the trio discovers a dangerous conspiracy. They soon become the targets of a powerful network of killers determined to keep their secrets hidden at all costs.
The Accountant 2 reunites director Gavin O’Connor, screenwriter Bill Dubuque, and producers Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams. Alongside Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and J.K. Simmons, the film also stars Daniella Pineda and Allison Robertson.
Affleck returns not only as the lead but also as a producer on the film. Executive producers include O’Connor, Scott LaStaiti, Jamie Patricof, Matt Damon, Michael Joe, Kevin Halloran, Dani Bernfeld, and Alison Winter.
The film boasts a talented behind-the-scenes team, including director of photography Seamus McGarvey, production designer Jade Healy, editor Richard Pearson, and costume designer Isis Mussenden. The music for the film is composed by Bryce Dessner.
The Accountant 2 is an Amazon MGM Studios production and will be distributed internationally by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film will hit theaters starting April 23, 2025.
