Studio 100 Film to Present “Toxic – Miracle of the Jungle” at Cannes

by Barbara

Munich-based sales company Studio 100 Film is set to present its new CGI animated feature, Toxic – Miracle of the Jungle, at the Marché du Film in Cannes. The adventure film, currently in development by Tunche Films, is set in the heart of the Amazon rainforest and is expected to be delivered in early 2027. At the market, Studio 100 Film will showcase the official teaser and concept art.

Lorena Booth, Senior Manager of Sales & Acquisitions at Studio 100 Film, expressed her excitement for the project: “I fell in love with Toxic – Miracle of the Jungle immediately. The heartfelt and entertaining adventure follows Dante, a small frog who discovers that his unique gift might be the very thing to save his world. With humor and heart, the story explores themes of belonging and environmental awareness.”

The film tells the story of Dante, an Amazonian dart frog with the rare ability to generate rain when his skin touches clouds. After a test flight goes wrong, Dante ends up in the jungle, where he dreams of fitting in with the local animal community. However, his toxic nature causes fear and exclusion. When a forest fire threatens the jungle, Dante becomes the key to its survival.

Tunche Films, known for the success of Ainbo – Spirit of the Amazon (2021), is also behind this new feature. Directed by José Zelada and César Zelada, Toxic is based on an original idea by César Zelada, who also co-wrote the screenplay. The film features production design by visual artist Pierre Salazar (known for The LEGO Movie and Happy Feet).

César Zelada commented, “We want to tell a story that celebrates the power of nature and the courage it takes to embrace who you are. Dante’s journey reflects the beauty and fragility of the Amazon, and the resilience that lives within it.”

Targeted at children aged six and up, Toxic – Miracle of the Jungle is planned to run for 84 minutes. Studio 100 Film will be presenting the film at Cannes from May 13-21 at the Résidence Gray D’Albion, Apartment 6B2.
