Madonna Unveils Revised Celebration Tour Schedule for 2024 Following Battling Bacterial Infection

In a heartening development, Madonna, the iconic pop sensation, has shed light on the rescheduled dates for her Celebration tour after a bout with a bacterial infection in June. This significant announcement comes after the artist had to delay the commencement of her tour due to her hospitalization in an intensive care unit.

The seasoned performer, aged 64, disclosed on Tuesday that the original North American leg of her Celebration world tour, which had been postponed, will now kick off on January 8, 2024, in Massachusetts and will draw to a close on April 21 in Mexico.

However, owing to scheduling conflicts, certain dates have regrettably been canceled. Notably, the shows on July 27 in Tulsa, December 22 in Nashville, January 15 in San Francisco, January 18 in Las Vegas, and January 20 in Phoenix have all been affected.

In an effort to accommodate fans, Madonna also shifted a summer performance originally slated for August 27 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden to a newly announced series of dates in December 2023, to be held at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

According to an official press release, patrons who held tickets for the earlier Madison Square Garden show will be granted “an exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets to the newly added Barclays Center performance.” The statement also ensures refunds for tickets to the initial show by Monday, August 28. Ticketmaster is set to dispatch affected buyers with a dedicated link and code based on their prior seat locations. The pre-sale window will open on Tuesday, August 29 and extend through Thursday, August 31. A similar process will be employed for ticket holders of the sponsored Crypto.com Arena events in Los Angeles.

All tickets from the original performances will be valid for the newly rescheduled dates.

This announcement comes two months after Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, disclosed that the music legend had contracted a “serious bacterial infection,” necessitating the delay of her much-anticipated tour. EW has confirmed that the tour will still feature special guest RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen.

Oseary conveyed, “On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

Amidst waves of support from friends like Debi Mazar and Rosie O’Donnell, Madonna herself provided a health update via an emotional social media post in July. “Thank you for your positive energy, prayers, and words of healing and encouragement. I have felt your love. I’m on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life,” she expressed on Instagram. She went on to share her thoughts upon waking up in the hospital, stating, “My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.”
