NAJAH FLEARY: Keenan’s roots and mine intertwine as we hail from the same locale. We both hail from the southeastern part of DC and reside within a stone’s throw of each other in Maryland. The fact that we were rivals in high school instantly formed a bond between us.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Were there any other islanders you connected with apart from Keenan?
NAJAH FLEARY: I was intrigued by Jonah and had him on my radar, but our connection never truly ignited. I did cultivate genuine friendships with Leo and Mike during my time in the villa.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: From your perspective, did Keenan communicate his feelings clearly to you?
NAJAH FLEARY: Initially, I thought he was transparent, as he revealed that he was torn between me and Kay Kay. Moreover, in private conversations, he expressed a strong interest in pursuing a relationship with me even after Casa Amor. It’s puzzling to see his public stance differing so starkly from his private sentiments.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Did you anticipate Keenan choosing you during the recoupling?
NAJAH FLEARY: I felt reasonably confident that he would select me during the recoupling. Our unspoken connection seemed unbreakable, with exchanged glances reinforcing my belief. However, everything changed when Carmen introduced a video that visibly altered his demeanor, leading him to choose Kay Kay.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Is there anything you’d like to clarify about your time with Keenan in the villa?
NAJAH FLEARY: I stand by every decision and action I took during my stay, owning my choices as an adult. Regrettably, Keenan’s perspective doesn’t align. His narrative implies not only unwanted advances but even assault, which is deeply disheartening. Many advances were initiated by him and reciprocated, challenging the authenticity of the relationship we shared.
NAJAH FLEARY: His claims that I persisted despite his rejections are inaccurate; in fact, he initiated many of our intimate moments, including the bedtime intimacy. The fact that we shared intimate moments on national television shouldn’t be a cause for shame. While we didn’t cross certain boundaries, such as engaging in sexual activity, we did share kisses that never saw the light of day. His fabrications obscure the profound connection we actually had.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Describe the atmosphere during the recoupling. It appeared to be fraught with tension.
NAJAH FLEARY: The tension in the air during the recoupling was palpable, making the female contestants profoundly uneasy. Unaware of the video’s existence, we witnessed a collective shift against Keenan and Kay Kay, rendering the atmosphere decidedly awkward.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: What were your feelings when Kay Kay re-entered the villa?
NAJAH FLEARY: I must admit to feeling a surge of joy. Kay Kay’s arrival was unexpected, and her declaration of being single was equally surprising. Keenan had not portrayed their relationship as exclusive, leading me to celebrate her candidness. I wanted to extend a high-five and a warm hug, recognizing that Keenan had blindsided several of us by downplaying his connection with her.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Do you believe you deserved more respect from Keenan?
NAJAH FLEARY: Undoubtedly, I had hoped for a connection rooted in honesty, genuineness, and mutual respect. I don’t harbor resentment or jealousy for not being chosen; rather, I wish Kay Kay well if she chooses to continue their relationship. My foremost concern is witnessing the repercussions of Keenan’s falsehoods. I stand by my actions, and he’s fully aware of the truth.

NAJAH FLEARY: I’ve caught glimpses of the subsequent episodes, but I haven’t watched them in their entirety. It’s a familiar narrative where individuals in love often overlook missteps. My hope is that Kay Kay gains clarity beyond the villa and sees Keenan for who he truly is. I aspire to see her in a better place.

NAJAH FLEARY: The true highlights of my journey were the connections forged with the fellow female contestants. Our shared energy and enthusiasm upon entering the villa were undeniable. Despite the rocky and occasionally embarrassing moments, I’m grateful for the experience, especially in the company of my Casa companions.
