Heartbreak for European Blink-182 fans as their highly-anticipated concerts have been abruptly postponed. The beloved ’90s pop-punk band made the announcement on their Instagram, revealing that the tour dates in the United Kingdom and Ireland would be delayed due to an undisclosed issue involving drummer Travis Barker.
In a statement shared on their Instagram Story, the band explained, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Travis has had to urgently return to the States. As a result, the Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows will be postponed. Further updates regarding Travis’ return and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as possible.”
Unfortunately, the band did not provide any specifics regarding Barker’s situation, leaving fans in the dark. Despite attempts to reach out for clarification, neither Barker nor Blink-182’s representative responded to requests for comment.
It’s worth noting that Barker recently tied the knot with Kourtney Kardashian in 2022, and there have been whispers of a pregnancy announcement. However, whether this is related to the current tour postponement remains uncertain.
This is not the first time that Barker’s circumstances have impacted the band’s tour. Their highly-anticipated comeback tour, featuring the original lineup of Barker, Mark Hoppus, and Tom DeLonge after an eight-year hiatus, faced delays earlier this year. Initially scheduled to begin in March, the tour was pushed back due to Barker suffering a severe finger injury during rehearsals.
Ultimately, Blink-182 made a triumphant return to the stage at Coachella in April. They surprised fans with a spontaneous performance during the festival’s first weekend and went on to fill in as a last-minute headliner during the second weekend, replacing Frank Ocean. Ocean had dropped out following a widely criticized and chaotic show during the festival’s first Sunday.
Although the reasons for the latest postponement remain shrouded in mystery, Blink-182 fans hope for a swift resolution and eagerly await the rescheduling of their beloved band’s European tour.
