Beyoncé’s recent birthday concert was a night to remember, filled with enchantment, emotions, and an unexpected surprise.
Sarah Francis Jones, known for her roles in films like Honey and Hairspray, had not anticipated the arrival of her baby girl for another week when she attended the Renaissance World Tour in Inglewood, California on September 4th.
However, much like the rest of the SoFi Stadium audience, this little one couldn’t contain her excitement and wanted to join the festivities.
“It happened shortly after the mute challenge. Everyone went silent. Los Angeles was doing great,” Jones shared with KTLA. “And then I started feeling contractions.”
Initially, Jones and her husband, Marcel Spears from The Neighborhood, thought it might be gas or Braxton Hicks contractions, commonly known as false labor pains.
“I told them, ‘Something’s going on,'” she reminisced. “Normally, I love to dance at concerts, but I thought, ‘Okay, I need to take a break for a moment.'”
Spears mentioned that since the contractions were still 20 to 30 minutes apart, they assumed they had some time before their newborn made her entrance, but as they headed to their car, reality hit: “This is happening right now.”
The couple documented the entire experience, sharing their unforgettable Bey-baby day on social media.
“If we hadn’t recorded it, I doubt anyone would believe it,” Spears admitted. “It’s one of those situations where it’s so surreal that you think, ‘Nah, that can’t be happening.’ But the baby certainly had her plans.”
Although Jones went into labor on Beyoncé’s birthday, she didn’t give birth until the following day. Interestingly, much like Queen Bey herself, their baby turned out to be a true Virgo.
“Most of the contractions coincided with ‘Virgo’s Groove,'” Spears pointed out.
Jones and Spears named their newest addition Nola, inspired by Spears’ hometown of New Orleans. However, they are keeping an open mind when it comes to choosing a middle name.
“We’re still considering something Beyoncé-esque, who knows, we’ll see!” Jones teased.
