The Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) is once again paving the way for emerging Black music producers and songwriters with the opening of applications for the second annual Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis Music Maker Grant, proudly presented by ASCAP.
Last year’s grant transformed the musical journey of Mondaii, an Atlanta-based songwriter and artist who expressed gratitude, saying, “The music maker grant and the $5000 funding helped to kick start my career. With the money, I was able to fund the mixing for my latest single ‘Back N Forth.'”
This year’s grant not only offers financial support but also includes coveted studio time and mentorship from the BMAC Board, Executive Leadership, and the iconic duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, celebrated for their songwriting and production prowess.

The grand revelation of the 2024 grant recipient is set to unfold in December at an event presented by BMAC and the visionary duo Jam and Lewis, with ASCAP taking the stage as the host. The honor will be bestowed by BMAC leadership in conjunction with the renowned mentors.
Willie “Prophet” Stiggers, CEO and president of BMAC, emphasized the organization’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of industry leaders.
